RMEC VS. THE STANDARD EURO

The Rubber Molded Euro Cable has numerous advantages over the standard Euro. Either male or female; the plug end is bonded to the insulation on the power cables. Rain or melting snow will not penetrate into the connection. The result is no faults during inclimate weather (I.E. “Invalid Pilot”) error codes which prevent a vehicle from charging.

Your typical plastic Euro is IP23 rated which is just a lower-class test for a specific angle of water and flow which does not mean that is anywhere near an IP66 or IP67 rating.

For understanding the IP rating you need to know that IP means means “Ingress Protection”. The first digit in the IP rate of 23 means that the 2 =(solids protection) keeps out 12.5mm fingers or similar objects and the 3 = (liquids protection). Water projected by a nozzle (6.3mm) against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects. None of these say waterproof, water-resistant, or submersible. Both the male and female plugs can have intrusion of water into them. Regardless of how much silicon is squeezed into the connector...the water will find a path.

The female contacts in the Molded Water Tight Euro MWTE have an internal connection system that does not rely on slotted contacts which means that the contact hole will remain the same throughout the life of the plug and not be opened so that it cannot make good electrical contact.

All internal parts of the plug both male and female are sealed from water intrusion. RMEC mates with plastic attachable Euros. The Molded Water Tight Euro RMEC keeps a firm bonded grip on the insulation of the power cables and control cable so that pulling the connectors by the cable will not open the conductor’s copper to being touched by a human hand. Much safer and reliable connector system.

As always...the DC cables we provide are manufactured using stage and lighting cable which is the only cable type approved for DC powered transmission when the cable is NOT installed in conduit or a raceway. Any of our cable offerings can be manufactured for the specific length you need for your operation.
